So last night I hung out with Ryan and Mike at the basement bar and we had a pretty good time. We finished watching The Grateful Dead movie, which was really amazing. I could actually see myself getting into the Dead from it. I wish I had been alive while they were in their heyday. Is it hayday or heyday? But anyway, I totally wish that I could have gone to see them play live. The kids in the audience (I think it was filmed at the Fillmore in SF) seemed to really be having an other worldly experience. I guess drugs help with that quite a bit.
Ryan was telling me about this festival he goes to every year called The Gathering Of the Vibes in Bridgeport, CT. I guess it takes place on a beach and you just get all freaky for two or three days. He's all like "Aw man, you gotta come this year." I don't know, maybe if things change on the job front and I actually start making money again I'll consider it. Anyway, the Dead movie rocks! We drank some beer until the keg got kicked and then we drank some Jaeger and Dewar's. I didn't really get drunk but had a nice warm buzz on for the film. In a way, I'm glad that we finished watching it because now we can get back to plowing through the entire series of Arrested Development. I think we're on Season 2 disc 1. We spent an entire weekend watching it a few weeks ago and that show is still one of my top 5 comedies ever.
In other news, I got paid from unemployment which is awesome. I've never been able to collect before because something or other was always screwed up, but now I'm getting paid from it and I'm psyched. Amazon is really yanking my chain as far as working goes. Last week they called me three times in one day. First to tell me I had to work, then they called to tell me I didn't have to work. So I was chilling and then they called me in the morning to ask if I could come in! So I got like 15 hours last week, but might have to tell unemployment that I could have had more hours if not for their fucking around. Even when I do show up to work they end up sending us home half the time. It's very annoying to have to get up and go in at 7:30 only to go home by 8.
