This made me laugh just now

The job hunt concludes

So, today I got a call telling me that I did get the job at the insurance company. I'm psyched!! This is awesome news because now I can get a laptop without worrying that I'm diminishing my savings and won't have enough to cover expenses. So anyway, yay!

Fall

Fall is right around the corner again and that's awesome! I cannot wait for the weather to get cooler. It's been hot here, but not killer hot, just hot enough to be really tiresome. I did get a break from it when I went to New Hampshire two weeks ago. Supposedly, the whole time I was up there it was raining here. Everybody said it rained really hard the first few days I was gone. That's good because we need rain here terribly. It seems like every summer there's a long dry spell. Oh well.

I got a call from my girl last night, so I've got to call her today and say hello. Tonight I have to drive to Baltimore to pick up my friends Doug and Rachel from BWI. I've never been there so I hope it's not too confusing. I have to park too, which I'm not looking forward to. Rachel says it's like a maze in there, so I better keep on my toes.

In other news, the job hunt is still on. I still need to get a job. Oh yeah, I'll write about this since I don't think I've done so here yet; I'm waiting on a background check for employment with this insurance company. They said I wouldn't be able to start until after Labor Day and they'd love to have me as long as my background check came back OK. I haven't heard anything from them in about four weeks. Dana also works at this same company and he said if they're not going to hire me they'll send me a letter. I haven't gotten a letter, nor did I get a call telling me when to come for training. So that's a little stressful because I really want that job. If I don't hear from them soon it's back to scouring the classifieds, which I'd really like to avoid.

Why does Blogger format stuff like this now? It's weird not having breaks between paragraphs and having the lines all scrunched together. About Blogging though, I'm glad that I got rid of my old blog. I was thinking about this last night and really I didn't like having a record of everything I'd done for a year online. Especially, since I really didn't do much in '06 and the beginning of '07. I don't think I'll tear this one down in the future but I'm glad I took the old one offline.

I'm so lazy today

I'm supposed to be mowing my mom's lawn today, but just can't get motivated at all. Right now, I'm enjoying the new album from Norwegian punk band Turbonegro, called Retox. I didn't even know they had a new album in the works. I just got a Myspace bulletin about it so I downloaded it. So far my favorite song is Hell Toupee. Alot of their songs are kind of tongue in cheek, and I'm pretty sure they don't take themselves too seriously. I once went as the drummer for Halloween. Now that I think about it that was my last real Halloween costume, which was in 2003. My friend Marty had what I didn't know at the time would be the last Halloween party I'd attend. Now my friends are scattered all across the US, so we don't get together for that holiday much anymore. Nobody seems to care about Halloween around here anymore. Anyway........

Right now I sooo want to travel, even though I've just come back from New England. I can't wait to go to California and Colorado. Hopefully, I will get to both of those places before the end of the year. I had hoped I'd be going to see Radiohead at Red Rocks by now, but no such luck. I really do hope they play there, though, because it would be my dream to see them there. I was supposed to go see The Cure there in October, but now I don't think I'm going to that show. Well, I gots to mow now. Oh, how this sucks! Also, Kristi I still can't get onto your blog. I don't know why, maybe it's a problem with my computer, but I just get an hourglass for ages. I hope you are well!

Now I might as well

I got these matrix mixes of new Radiohead tracks off the AtEase messageboard (great place), so I might as well share them here. These links will not die, so take time getting them if you want. Matrix mixes are made by splicing the best bits of several recordings together to have the best sound quality. Arpeggi, posted below is one of these mixes and I am compulsively listening to that. Here are a few more, there are thirteen in all. I am so looking forward to LP7 (no, duh) because I know there are some songs that have not been played. Of the unheard stuff I'm most looking forward to A Pig's Ear (or Pigsee) and Burn The Witch. For a detailed description of the new songs and how long they've been kicking around I'd suggest going here. A really amazing website that is dissecting the new stuff with wild abandon. http://www.citizeninsane.eu/lp7.html

All I Need

And another thing........

So, lately, I have been doing much more planning for trips I'm trying to take. I just got back from New Hampshire, where I visited my Dad and his side of the family for a week. That was OK, but those guys are a little nutty, or alot nutty depending on which day you talk to them.

I'm trying to get things situated to go back to Colorado in the fall. Right now I don't have a job and I'm just kind of floating which is both awesome and a bit scary, because I need to lock down a source of income soon, lest I become financially destitute in a few months. It is nice however to be able to have the free time to do what I want.

I have a semi comfortable situation going with this girl right now and that's cool, but I'm waiting for her to show me another side of her personality. I can't seem to pin down where she is with the whole maturity thing. She's 23 and fairly beautiful, but there's something missing there that I can't put my finger on. Almost like she isn't a real person. Almost like she is just all surface and nothing underneath and that kind of bothers me. I need someone with a personality and things going on. Interests, I guess you would say. She seems to like the things I'm into, but we really are finding that there's not much to talk about because she seems to be bringing very little to the table conversation-wise. We'll see what happens I guess.

Right now, I'm becoming obsessed with these cars I'm seeing all over and I need to get one soon.

I'm writing and reading a whole lot more, so maybe if I can get published I'll be on my way. By then I probably won't want one of these anyway. Just seeing them everyday though is making me salivate for my untold future. I have a lot of aspirations and a whole lot of stuff I want to do.

Two new things

I know that I haven't written much since returning from Mexico, but I can't really help it. It never occurs to me to blog anymore, which stinks, and I'm kind of between computers right now which makes it difficult to get that much time to surf the web at all. Over the course of this week, I'll definitely be putting up more stuff and I'll begin to let you know what's been up with me. There's lots to say, so I'll start soon. Until then I'll be reading my favorite blogs and chiming in when I'm caught up on reading. Sorry that I've been neglectful on that front. Talk to you soon!
Here is one of my favorite songs of late and you can download it, if you like. More music to come as soon as I get time. Really, there's so much to do lately.

Arpeggi
in the deepest ocean
the bottom of the sea
your eyes, they turn me
why should I stay here

why should I stay

I'd be crazy not to follow
follow where you lead
your eyes, they turn me
turn me onto phantoms

I follow to the edge of the earth
and fall off

everybody leaves
if they get the chance
and this is my chance

I get eaten by the worms
and weird fishees
picked over by the worms
and weird fishees
weird fishees weird fishees

yeah I
I hit the bottom
hit the bottom and escape
escape
I I hit the bottom

hit the bottom and escape
escape escape

Here is one of my favorite music videos. I've had these two seperate files for this song forever and only recently bothered to merge them together in Windows Movie Maker. Cheesy! Enjoy!

Some mexico pics...

This is the resort that we stayed in. It seems like so long ago now. We all had the greatest time! These pictures were taken from our balcony. At night we would hangout on the balcony for hours and joke around with the parents and drink tons of beer. Most nights around 1 am it would be time to do shots or fire up the blender and make some alcoholic concoctions. We had some great conversations about girls, music and movies, as you can imagine.

This is the private beach that was attached to our neighborhood and naturally "fenced in" by rocks and the Pacific Ocean.

This is the desert surrounding this place we went to called Art & Beer. It's a bar slash art store where you can buy works of original Mexican art. The picture above of the cruise ship is from when we went to this touristy beach where a lot of the people were from cruise ships that stopped there for the day. There were some seriously hot girls there that day. All in all we had a great trip! I'd like to post more pics but Blogger is weird when you're trying to format them with type and get them in order. Maybe there'll be another post about Mexico when I get a chance. However, big news: I am seeing a young woman now for the first time in a while, so wish me luck with that. Hint: I'll just figure you are since I won't be able to tell. Thanks!
