Trying to post more

So I'm trying to post more lately, we'll see how long that lasts. I've been horrible at blogging lately, because I don't really have the time. I shouldn't even be blogging now, I should be looking for a job, but oh well. I know by this time next week, I'll have something.

Doug and Mike's mom invited me to dinner next Friday and I thought that was so nice of her. I can't wait to get together with all of them. I think Mike and I are going to have a listening party for In Rainbows on Wednesday at the basement bar. It kind of sucks that the album won't be in stores until January because I was looking forward to a midnight release and meeting other fans in line. It doesn't really matter, I suppose, because listening will be great fun. By the time I hear the album at Mike's I will probably have heard it five times. What a great day Wednesday will be, new Radiohead and Kid Nation. I can't wait! My Kid Nation fandom is ravenous and I guess I can see now why people get so hyped for Survivor or So You Think You Can Dance.

Blogging again

I never blog anymore and I'm aware that that is slackerish. There's really not much to talk about lately other than the new Radiohead album. What else?

Is anyone else watching Kid Nation? I am addicted to that show, it's really the first reality show I've ever bothered following. I've also been watching Kitchen Nightmares. I've been hanging out with Mike and his cousin Ryan alot lately. Ryan just moved here from Jersey and is only 22. He plays a mean guitar though, holy smokes. I keep telling him we have to go to some open mics so he can meet some other musicians. I haven't been to an open mic in quite a while. The Pete's (ah, to remember Pete's) style open mic is still going on at The Elephant and Castle but I heard that not too many people ever show up anymore.

I don't know. Alot of things have changed around here recently for better or for worse. I'll try to post more soon, but I still don't really have a life. Just kidding.

New Radiohead album October 10th! Weeee! The download will be available next week at a cost that you, the consumer, dictate, basically a donation. Or you can order the 'discbox' which is comprised of 2 cds and 2 12 inch vinyl records, plus bonus materials. This is all very exciting stuff. Go to Radiohead.com for details.

Work sucks, I know

My new job is a head twister. I'm in training right now and it's difficult, but should be rewarding in the long run. I just hope I don't get burned out being on the phone all day. I have a hankering to go back to my old job if they'll take me back. I talked to my boss and he seemed cool with it, which is awesome considering I was fired. He just said that I have to go through HR to see if I'd still have the same benefits and pay or if I'd be starting out at the bottom all over again. If I could go back with my same pay I wouldn't care what job I got in the company, it might beat the one I have now. I guess I'll find out how bad the situation really is on Monday, when I actually begin to do some work for real. I'll still be in training but we go to the phones on Monday to get our bearings I guess you could say.
This week sucked being in training though. I was freaking out and that's when I called my boss at my old job and told him what the story was and that is was most likely a medical problem that caused me to lose the job by never being able to wake up. Fuckin' idiot douche that I am.

Anyway, here's are two videos of songs that I'm loving lately.

Post Labor Day...

My friends from Boulder were back this weekend and we partied and had a great time. It was at Mike's house so we had the basement bar as a backdrop. Yesterday, I was feeling it though. I just laid around and didn't really do much of anything. It sucked. I was feeling so bad.... UGGGGGGGHHHHHHH. I should never party again, the aftermath is way too harsh.

I'm looking forward to starting my job on Monday and then getting back into a regular schedule. That's going to be hard as hell, seeing as I haven't really worked since mid-June. I don't know whow everything worked out so I'd get the summer off, but I'm glad I had all the time off. It was supernice. Mike is back in school now so summer is officially over. I hope fall is cool this year but it really must be better than last year because last fall just totally sucked. That horrible timespan can't be repeated again. It was so awful, that's one of the reasons I didn't mind taking my preMexico blog down. That stuff shouldn't even apply anymore.

This made me laugh just now

The job hunt concludes

So, today I got a call telling me that I did get the job at the insurance company. I'm psyched!! This is awesome news because now I can get a laptop without worrying that I'm diminishing my savings and won't have enough to cover expenses. So anyway, yay!

Fall

Fall is right around the corner again and that's awesome! I cannot wait for the weather to get cooler. It's been hot here, but not killer hot, just hot enough to be really tiresome. I did get a break from it when I went to New Hampshire two weeks ago. Supposedly, the whole time I was up there it was raining here. Everybody said it rained really hard the first few days I was gone. That's good because we need rain here terribly. It seems like every summer there's a long dry spell. Oh well.

I got a call from my girl last night, so I've got to call her today and say hello. Tonight I have to drive to Baltimore to pick up my friends Doug and Rachel from BWI. I've never been there so I hope it's not too confusing. I have to park too, which I'm not looking forward to. Rachel says it's like a maze in there, so I better keep on my toes.

In other news, the job hunt is still on. I still need to get a job. Oh yeah, I'll write about this since I don't think I've done so here yet; I'm waiting on a background check for employment with this insurance company. They said I wouldn't be able to start until after Labor Day and they'd love to have me as long as my background check came back OK. I haven't heard anything from them in about four weeks. Dana also works at this same company and he said if they're not going to hire me they'll send me a letter. I haven't gotten a letter, nor did I get a call telling me when to come for training. So that's a little stressful because I really want that job. If I don't hear from them soon it's back to scouring the classifieds, which I'd really like to avoid.

Why does Blogger format stuff like this now? It's weird not having breaks between paragraphs and having the lines all scrunched together. About Blogging though, I'm glad that I got rid of my old blog. I was thinking about this last night and really I didn't like having a record of everything I'd done for a year online. Especially, since I really didn't do much in '06 and the beginning of '07. I don't think I'll tear this one down in the future but I'm glad I took the old one offline.

I'm so lazy today

I'm supposed to be mowing my mom's lawn today, but just can't get motivated at all. Right now, I'm enjoying the new album from Norwegian punk band Turbonegro, called Retox. I didn't even know they had a new album in the works. I just got a Myspace bulletin about it so I downloaded it. So far my favorite song is Hell Toupee. Alot of their songs are kind of tongue in cheek, and I'm pretty sure they don't take themselves too seriously. I once went as the drummer for Halloween. Now that I think about it that was my last real Halloween costume, which was in 2003. My friend Marty had what I didn't know at the time would be the last Halloween party I'd attend. Now my friends are scattered all across the US, so we don't get together for that holiday much anymore. Nobody seems to care about Halloween around here anymore. Anyway........

Right now I sooo want to travel, even though I've just come back from New England. I can't wait to go to California and Colorado. Hopefully, I will get to both of those places before the end of the year. I had hoped I'd be going to see Radiohead at Red Rocks by now, but no such luck. I really do hope they play there, though, because it would be my dream to see them there. I was supposed to go see The Cure there in October, but now I don't think I'm going to that show. Well, I gots to mow now. Oh, how this sucks! Also, Kristi I still can't get onto your blog. I don't know why, maybe it's a problem with my computer, but I just get an hourglass for ages. I hope you are well!

Now I might as well

I got these matrix mixes of new Radiohead tracks off the AtEase messageboard (great place), so I might as well share them here. These links will not die, so take time getting them if you want. Matrix mixes are made by splicing the best bits of several recordings together to have the best sound quality. Arpeggi, posted below is one of these mixes and I am compulsively listening to that. Here are a few more, there are thirteen in all. I am so looking forward to LP7 (no, duh) because I know there are some songs that have not been played. Of the unheard stuff I'm most looking forward to A Pig's Ear (or Pigsee) and Burn The Witch. For a detailed description of the new songs and how long they've been kicking around I'd suggest going here. A really amazing website that is dissecting the new stuff with wild abandon. http://www.citizeninsane.eu/lp7.html

All I Need

15 Step

And another thing........

So, lately, I have been doing much more planning for trips I'm trying to take. I just got back from New Hampshire, where I visited my Dad and his side of the family for a week. That was OK, but those guys are a little nutty, or alot nutty depending on which day you talk to them.

I'm trying to get things situated to go back to Colorado in the fall. Right now I don't have a job and I'm just kind of floating which is both awesome and a bit scary, because I need to lock down a source of income soon, lest I become financially destitute in a few months. It is nice however to be able to have the free time to do what I want.

I have a semi comfortable situation going with this girl right now and that's cool, but I'm waiting for her to show me another side of her personality. I can't seem to pin down where she is with the whole maturity thing. She's 23 and fairly beautiful, but there's something missing there that I can't put my finger on. Almost like she isn't a real person. Almost like she is just all surface and nothing underneath and that kind of bothers me. I need someone with a personality and things going on. Interests, I guess you would say. She seems to like the things I'm into, but we really are finding that there's not much to talk about because she seems to be bringing very little to the table conversation-wise. We'll see what happens I guess.

Right now, I'm becoming obsessed with these cars I'm seeing all over and I need to get one soon.

I'm writing and reading a whole lot more, so maybe if I can get published I'll be on my way. By then I probably won't want one of these anyway. Just seeing them everyday though is making me salivate for my untold future. I have a lot of aspirations and a whole lot of stuff I want to do.

Two new things

I know that I haven't written much since returning from Mexico, but I can't really help it. It never occurs to me to blog anymore, which stinks, and I'm kind of between computers right now which makes it difficult to get that much time to surf the web at all. Over the course of this week, I'll definitely be putting up more stuff and I'll begin to let you know what's been up with me. There's lots to say, so I'll start soon. Until then I'll be reading my favorite blogs and chiming in when I'm caught up on reading. Sorry that I've been neglectful on that front. Talk to you soon!
Here is one of my favorite songs of late and you can download it, if you like. More music to come as soon as I get time. Really, there's so much to do lately.

Arpeggi
in the deepest ocean
the bottom of the sea
your eyes, they turn me
why should I stay here

why should I stay

I'd be crazy not to follow
follow where you lead
your eyes, they turn me
turn me onto phantoms

I follow to the edge of the earth
and fall off

everybody leaves
if they get the chance
and this is my chance

I get eaten by the worms
and weird fishees
picked over by the worms
and weird fishees
weird fishees weird fishees

yeah I
I hit the bottom
hit the bottom and escape
escape
I I hit the bottom

hit the bottom and escape
escape escape

Here is one of my favorite music videos. I've had these two seperate files for this song forever and only recently bothered to merge them together in Windows Movie Maker. Cheesy! Enjoy!

Some mexico pics...

This is the resort that we stayed in. It seems like so long ago now. We all had the greatest time! These pictures were taken from our balcony. At night we would hangout on the balcony for hours and joke around with the parents and drink tons of beer. Most nights around 1 am it would be time to do shots or fire up the blender and make some alcoholic concoctions. We had some great conversations about girls, music and movies, as you can imagine.

This is the private beach that was attached to our neighborhood and naturally "fenced in" by rocks and the Pacific Ocean.

This is the desert surrounding this place we went to called Art & Beer. It's a bar slash art store where you can buy works of original Mexican art. The picture above of the cruise ship is from when we went to this touristy beach where a lot of the people were from cruise ships that stopped there for the day. There were some seriously hot girls there that day. All in all we had a great trip! I'd like to post more pics but Blogger is weird when you're trying to format them with type and get them in order. Maybe there'll be another post about Mexico when I get a chance. However, big news: I am seeing a young woman now for the first time in a while, so wish me luck with that. Hint: I'll just figure you are since I won't be able to tell. Thanks!

Good little skate video

This is the Bonus Footage from Fourstar Clothing's Super Champion Funzone DVD. I'm just putting this here for the entertaining Gonz footage. I had another video of him in NY on the blog before I tore it down. I'm hoping I can find that again. Came across this while searching for it.

There's so much to say about what has been going on with me. I need to give people some details and pics from my trip to Mexico. I know.

Right now I'm just waiting for everything to settle down and I'm trying to get my bearings back here in the real world before I really try to express myself. I want to be as concise as possible, but there's just so much to tell and every time I think I've put the lid on it and can give a recap, something else happens that's cool and amazing and I'm off on another whole new discovery.

I will not forget about explaining the bird and the babe pic I posted before I tore my old blog down. I guess you can have fun with the links until then. That's what I've been doing. We'll talk soon. I must say "Thank you!" to Denise for reaching out to my homies and getting the info out to people who may have been very worried about me without some info. For a minute there I lost myself. It all started here...
