Anne has got me since I saw Get Smart the other day at the drive-in. The movie kind of sucked and I can't believe they're doing that straight-to-video release of the movie about the dudes who make Maxwell's gadgets in the movie. This week has been pretty good. I've been chilling with my friends who are visiting from Colorado and that's been really fun. They are cool. Doug and I hit the mall and the skateshop the other day and that rocked. In a totally unrelated sidenote, when I was at the skateshop I saw that a skate company is marketing a shirt that I got a year or two ago in the women's section at the Salvation Army. I love this shirt because it depicts raccoons that look like they want to snuggle or rip out your throat. It's an awesome shirt but I never expected a company to release it for kids.
I finally signed up for Never Not Funny premium. I had to, there's no way I can live without my weekly dose of Jimmy, Matt and their guests. I actually heard one of my favorite exchanges all summer on that show a few weeks ago. I think Chris Hardwick was the guest and he was talking about meeting Neil Finn. Jimmy says he met Neil Finn and it didn't go so well. The reason: Jimmy dreamt it was over. Killer stuff. Maybe I'll write more later.

Various Radiohead Videos Part 1

Fog - This song is on the menu of my Glastonbury '03 DVD. I'm glad the band knew that the studio version sucked. This version kills it. I wish they'd still perform it these days. Full band Fog would be incredible.

Everything In Its Right Place - A Fan video that I haven't watched all of yet. It has good audio though. I wanted to find the blip for this song but I'm not sure there is one. None of the homemade videos I saw for this song were particularly great, but you can't blame the kids for trying.

Jigsaw Falling Into Place - I really like the Scotch Mist version of this song. How it's so smooth sounding in between the ondes notes.

Wolf At The Door - Live in Tokyo. I've seen this song live and it's pretty great. I'm not the biggest fan of Hail To The Thief, but I loved this song as the closer. I also like There There.

There There - Live at Summer Sonic '03, Tokyo, same source as the Wolf video. I never saw this video until today. I couldn't find a version with great audio, but I guess you could always just turn it up.

Various Radiohead Videos Part 2

Airbag - This one is cool because it uses artwork from the OK Computer era, with some other stuff thrown in for squeaks and gigs.

Motion Picture Soundtrack - This is one of the original Kid A blips and is pretty great. I was hoping to find the full length version and it was easy to find.

Morning Bell - This one is weird, but in an artsy way. Good editing work though, and I like how the film is playing backwards. Took me a second to get that. Smoke weed.

You And Whose Army - Live video from 2001. Recorded for French television. I have this show on VHS and it held me over for a long time when I couldn't go see the band live. I wish that someone would make a funny video of Bin Laden footage to this song.

Arpeggi - Is better than Weird Fishes/Arpeggi IMHO. The album version just doesn't seem to have the same punch as this '06 live version. Crank it up!

Writing is killing me!

So, I have off today and I'm trying to get my writing in order while listening to an old episode of The Best Show. It's just not flowing and looking back over what I've written is just pissing me off. It seems to have no real substance or inner heart if that makes any sense. I will say however that writing using Google docs kicks ass. That's a great little tool and easy to use. So, here I sit getting more pissed off because if I can't write, then I need to be out walking or riding my bike because I really need to lose weight. I'm used to being pretty thin, but now I have this crazy gut that's out of control because all I did all winter and spring was drink my ass off. Oh boy.

Anyway, back to normal stuff. Last night at work was pretty good. I made alright money and my tables were cool. I didn't get stiffed by anyone and some of my tables actually tipped me twice which was nice. I've realized that the best people to wait on are older people, even though a lot of them tip kind of shitty. Young people tip better usually, but sometimes they want to joke around and can confuse you a little.

Pretty cool website

Damn, I would love to buy this board. It's on Ebay right now for about $100 with like 48 hours to go. Damn sweet!! Supposedly Ryan and I are getting new setups this week. We'll see.
This weekend was pretty chill. I worked Friday night and that was great. I made really decent money, so that was good because money hasn't been that great there recently. Hit up Coakley's after work with the crew and that was a lot of fun. They are good people and it's really nice to like everyone you work with. Saturday night I went over to Ryan's and chilled for a bit then we went to the West Shore Hardware Bar for some reason and that was alright but we weren't there long. I thought I would hate it but it actually wasn't that bad. It was a much different crowd than what I was expecting. I should go out more.
So tonight I worked and it was pretty fun. All my tables were totally chill. Right now I'm listening to UYD and chilling.

Bruce McCulloch Shame-based Man

When I first got my Ipod back in 2006, this album was in heavy rotation. Some of these songs are still in my 25 Most Played. I've been listening to it a lot recently and decided to put it up. This is such a good album!! Of course it has classic McCulloch stuff like "Daves I Know" and "Doors" but it also has some great, great stuff I hadn't heard on Kids In The Hall. "Daddy's On The Drink Again" and "Lift Me Up" might be the funniest songs you'll hear this year. Get it and enjoy!
This download link has been deleted. Sorry.

some videos

So, lately I haven't been doing much but chilling with Ryan and Jess and their new kitten Walter. Like all kittens he is really playful and loves to explore. Other than that just trying to get back into the habit of writing again and really trying to work on stuff in that area. I turn 31 soon so I've got to get on it.

Anyway, the other night while playing in Dublin, Ireland, Radiohead premiered a new song called Super Collider (working title, I'm sure) check it out.

I also found this pretty cool video of Neckface artwork set to Iron Maiden. Some of this stuff I've seen before, but a lot of it is new to me.

Just read an article about this

It was in last month's Skateboard Mag and talked about how scary it was to film all these tricks. Even though it's a few months old, it's still pretty damn cool. Lakai Fully Flared intro.

you know about this, you heard about this?

Ryan and I have been watching a ton of South Park on Ondemand lately. He does the most awesome impression of Jimmy and had me dying today. Like he was doing the "Haaa" when Jimmy can't say a word. So funny. Jimmy rocks. He gave us maybe the hardest laugh we had all winter in the basement when he said "I just flew in to South Park and boy are my crutches tired." The talking plush doll of him even has that as one of it's phrases! Such a classic line.

So today, after running some errands with Ryan and his girl, Jess, we're at Ryan's watching Nightmare On Elm Street 2 and I get on Youtube to try to find some classic Jimmy footage. I didn't really have much luck but I did find this cool website in the comments: sp-studio.de. You can use it to make your own South Park characters. The one I made is me now that my hair is longer than Nicole Kidman's neck.

Also, today the three of us ate lunch on a deck overlooking the Susquehanna river and we saw two watersnakes!!

a few things

I know I haven't blogged much lately and there's really not a reason why. I found out Thursday that I'll be getting unemployment, which is good because I can't really get more hours at the restaurant until the college kids go back to school. So I will spend the summer writing as much as I can and just trying to chill with my friends when I'm not busy. I need to get a haircut super bad and I think I'll do that tomorrow. So everything right now is good. Money's alright and with the tips I make, plus my biweekly paycheck, which is usually about $40 and getting a little over $300 from unemployment a week, my summer should be kickass. I'm going to the beach for a day or two in the middle of the month and I may also go visit my friends who just moved to Delaware. They live right at the beach too, so what what! I'll write more soon.
